[WEEKEND OFF DUTY]

Weekend happenings//

Dec10

+ Jack is my go-to mug for the season                        + The Queen Mary at night

+ As a belated birthday surprise, a friend took me to the CHILL event in Long Beach. It was set up in a really cute Christmas-y village, but the ice sculptures stored in a walk-through 12* (TWELVE degrees!) dome are the main attraction.

+ I got together with a few girlfriends, and we headed down south to Newport for the Christmas Boat Parade Cruise. Balboa Island is a little slice of heaven, and I love seeing all the homes done up for Christmas. The closer it gets to Christmas, the more decorated the harbor becomes, so do check it out if you can.

+ I wish this was my weekend. The “Whatever” art and tossed comforter speak to my energy level perfectly right now. In fact, I can’t tell you how many grammatical errors I found when I reviewed this draft; it’s that kinda week.

Other notes//

+ I attended a murder mystery party on Saturday for a birthday, which is always fun. If you’ve never done one, I highly suggest it. Unfortunately, I was the killer, which was a bit of a bummer, but it’s really fun to figure it out and go through the investigation. We did this one.

+ Christmas is just about in full swing here. We picked out a Christmas tree, and I’ve watched a handful of holiday films over the weekend. Just need to get busy with the present part…

+ Did you pick up any of the Target + Neiman Marcus product? Like a c̶r̶a̶z̶y̶ excited person, I ordered the Derek Lam skateboard [as promised] at the midnight release. I also nabbed the rag & bone boys sweater when I saw it in stores.

+ One holiday out, another in: Christmas lights are up  + Cynthia Rowley band-aids

+ Brunch with the ladies at Faux Pas Bistro and walking off our meal at the Grove afterwards.

Weekend happenings//

+ New metallic pencils for note sending & Christmas tags.

+ A Ninjago-themed birthday celebration.

+ Local pride from Intelligentsia. [similar here.]

Other notes//

+ This gorgeous mid-century modern estate in CT recently got a facelift. Stunning.

+ This happened. Then this. And this. Now this. Football did not love me back this weekend.

+ Wishing everyone a safe and very fun Thanksgiving week whether you’re working or traveling to see loved ones.

Weekend happenings//

+ Re-stocking up on Dye Ties.

+ Lazy afternoon with Abby; she has the right idea.

+ Freaks and Geeks on Netflix.

+ Local Dia de Los Muertos Festival: Crafts, car show, and cold refreshments for the 90*+ weather.

Other notes//

+ Saw Wreck-It Ralph with my brother, and it was so adorable. The short film before the flick is excellent.

+ Beautifully illustrated video on the co-existence of introverts & extroverts.

+ Thank you to Jessica for her post on designer Vega Zaishi Wang because now I can’t stop staring at her designs. Her work is so forward and just downright cool.

+ My dear friend Grace was supposed to run the NYC marathon, which obviously didn’t happen. Despite not running, she’s been busy volunteering for local NYC relief needs. To give your support, text REDCROSS to 90999 for a $10 donation or visit the Red Cross to give.

Weekend happenings//

+ I’m getting used to weekly homemade apple pies in our home lately. My mom’s leaf cutout adds a nice touch.

+ To celebrate Halloween, I decorated mini pumpkins for the girls in my FF league in their team colors.

+ Halloween funfetti cupcakes for MNF dessert.

Other notes//

+ Operation Christmas Child is starting their shoe box collection in the coming weeks. OCC is a great way to spread love and the Christmas spirit with children all over the world living in less developed countries. It’s super easy, gentle on your wallet, and you can even do it online now. Check it out!

+ ACL posted this fantastic behind-the-scene video from Crockett & Jones. Craftsmanship of this level is so inspiring.

Weekend happenings//

+ Between football games, it appears that I ate my way through the weekend: Celebrating a dear friend’s birthday with brunch at Taste, yet another Sprinkles cupcake & ice cream stop, and homemade pizza with the family.

Other notes//

+ I’ve got a busy schedule and a busy mind lately. Hyped to see D. Howard officially in purple and gold on the court yesterday. Wishing everyone a terrific and safe week.

Weekend happenings//

+ Tough oldies decision at Target. Went with Fred and Ginger this time.

+ Remember last week’s apple picking party? Those little guys were baked into a pie this weekend.

+ Glad we did not witness this dude die yesterday morning.

Other notes//

+ Zara Home launched this week. Eyeing lots of things which I do not need.

+ I neglected my Bloglovin’ feed for nearly two weeks and had 1600+ posts. Anyone else ever get that behind?

Weekend happenings//

+ Went to the The Head and The Heart concert Friday at the Wiltern. They sound just as good live.

+ An afternoon apple picking outing with the family at Willowbrook Apple Farm in Oak Glen.

Other notes//

+ Perfect football weekly record for me: The Rams and USC won on Thursday, and all three of my fantasy teams won with room to spare. Bonus points for Andrew Luck and the Colts taking a W over the Packers!

+ Lakers pre-season started yesterday. That much closer to our new starting line-up premiering. Stoked.

+ My turn to host dinner for Monday Night Football. I’m thinking it’s taco night. Have a good one, all!
