The Endless Summer is one of my all-time favorite movies, so I never quite get tired of seeing product inspired by the film despite its ubiquity. To commemorate its 50th anniversary, Dusters partnered with Bruce Brown, the film’s director, on a vibrant set of completes. Take your pick between the cruiser and longboard. Plus, both come with inlaid bottle openers – neat touch.

CUT IT OUT
“That looks like me.” That was my thought when I scrolled across this pullover on Without Walls yesterday. I even sent it to my co-worker to tell her it’s my new favorite thing. Like, if I turned into a piece of apparel, I’d bet it’s this. [or this. Close enough.] Described as a “bonded foam” fabric, I’m assuming that the unofficial way to say neoprene or a similar quality. I’ll take one, please.
WEEKEND OFF DUTY
Weekend, I mean, Summer happenings//
Although unplanned, not posting for most of the Summer was pretty easy to do. Not much happened, and, whatever did, I didn’t bother with many pictures. Here’s a catch-up if you’re so inclined.
PUNCHED UP: KL FOR LV
“I am always with the line from Voltaire, that ‘Everything that needs an explanation, isn’t worth the explanation.’ So what can I explain?
By now you’ve seen what I did? It’s fun! In fact I had several ideas and Louis Vuitton wanted to do them all—why not? All of the boxing things are related.
I know more and more women—and men too—who have started to box. I thought it was something that one should do, if possible, in a very expensive way. So I designed the huge piece of luggage with the punching-ball in it. I also wanted to make a bag that was inspired by that idea; it comes in different sizes. We made a special carpet with an application for beginners: where and how to put your feet and how to move. There is also a little bag with boxing gloves, it can be taken to the boxing appointment—I wanted to have a special Monogram for that too. It was really very childish, simple thinking!”
I won’t pretend that I always understand Karl Lagerfeld, but I’m not sure he does either. While incredibly excessive, I love his contribution to the Louis Vuitton “Iconoclasts” capsule and find it much more interesting than just another bag. On the flip side, I also don’t want to know who buys this.
