+ My friend and I made it up to the mountains for a day of snowboarding on the slickest runs I’ve seen in my life. We managed to get off the chair lifts without looking like fools, which deemed it a good day. While the rest of the country is being pummeled with deep chills, CA is the opposite and in a dangerous state of warmth and drought.

+ Our league fantasy trophy has been returned to the Commissioner! If you’re curious what the trophy looks like, you can glance it here.

+ Happy Super Bowl Week! If you need some last minute table top decor, this easy penalty flag DIY will do the trick.

DVF+ On Saturday afternoon, I explored the Journey of a Dress exhibition at LACMA, which celebrates Diane von Furstenberg’s 40 year career in fashion. As expected, the dresses are so lovely in person. How good are these prints that covered the floors and walls? I firmly think Diane should launch a wallpaper line; I’d buy it.

+ Speaking of color, how lovely is this insight into J. Crew’s color library. [via HonestlyWTF]

+ Adding these beeswax candles to my wish list from Great Bear Wax Co.

Mean Girls-inspired jewelry. Enough said.

I’ve always wanted to do a RunDisney race, but they’re usually sold out about the time I remember to go check dates. A few years ago I watched my friend run her first half at Disneyland, and the combination of the host venue and festively dressed participants created a great atmosphere. In honor  of the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend at Disneyland today thru Sunday, here’s a few inspired looks from iGlowRunning.

Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset+ Two weeks too late, but happy 2014! Instead of sharing photos of the to-do’s and happenings of the holidays recently, I’d rather just say it was all well and quite pleasant. There was our annual tamale day, sugar plum making*, celebrating NYE at Disneyland, lots of football watching, and a gratuitous intake of hot chocolate.

Other notes//

+ A fun way to see numbers and put them into perspective.

+ Another reason Justin Tucker is pretty rad…besides bringing my team to victory for Fantasy this year!

+ The Vans Custom Culture contest for high schoolers is in full swing. Check it out, or, better yet, enter if you’re eligible.

Last time the CFDA paired up with the sporting world, we got this collaboration. Now Super Bowl XLVIII is the latest designer challenge with 48 helmets re-interpreted through fashionable eyes. Some designers on the list include Billy Reid, Blake Mykoskie for Toms, Cynthia Rowley, Dannijo, Public School, Rag & Bone, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan for Donna Karan and DKNY, John Varvatos, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier,  Narciso Rodriguez, Nicole Miller, Olivier Theyskens, and Pamela Love.

I’m surprised by the lack of color so far. Couldn’t Narciso’s be easily added to an Oregon uniform? Bloomingdales will be showcasing all helmets starting next week as they go onto auction from 1/15-2/4. 100% of all proceeds will go to the NFL Foundation.

Get your bids ready.
