Being a couple weeks into September now doesn’t mean that summer and the heat are over here in southern California. With temperatures easily surpassing 90* through October, I’ve been taking advantage of snagging discounted swimwear since everyone else’s season is over. Above is my favorite snag of the year, the Sketchy Squares top. Do you stock up on out-of-season gear for Summer or Winter?

Perfect for a little night surf or swim, yes? Or just to show off. I wonder how well the glow holds up after a few washes.
Available at Jolyn.

Pretty swim things abound over at Cynthia Rowley. Glad to see that Ms. Rowley didn’t stop producing unique swim and wetsuit items after her ROXY collaboration ended.
The DVF Loves Roxy capsule is almost here, and Kelia and Monyca wear [and sell] the bikinis well. I was able to sneak a peak at the collection last Fall, and it is so darn cute. Both Roxy and DVF have blended their individual identities well to create special pieces.
Watch Diane share her inspiration here and pick up the collection on 3/7.
I’m a huge Maya Hayuk fan, so I was, and still am, pretty stoked to see her teaming up with Billabong for a new capsule. Check, check, check it out.
Wildfox Couture goes granny for Resort, and apparently Kimberley’s grandma was one cool, preppy lady.
I’ve got Christmas music* playing non-stop and considering that we don’t have much for winter weather over here, Colbie Caillat’s holiday album fits the bill perfectly.
That said, I’m also looking at swimwear year-round. My dear friend Paula tipped me off to the brand Jolyn. As a synchronized swimmer, she knows how quickly suits can wear out, fade, and lose fit, so I can see why she’s stoked on the brand. Their versatile basics look like instant core closet items, which makes their skull suit collaboration with Laeken just the icing on the cake. Plus, they’re all made in the USA. Good find, Paula!
*I am fully aware of the calendar, but if Starbucks has red cups, it’s a go.
Lisa Marie Fernandez‘ swim suits are so divine. Especially the Peter Pilotto collab styles. Dying.
“A distinctive brand, Seea is dedicated to the pioneering women who first braved the waves, and to every woman who has ever searched for a suit that is feminine, comfortable, and fun. An elegant mix of retro-modern shapes and contemporary colors and prints, Seea strikes the perfect balance between surf function and style.”
Beautiful, right? Seea transports me to a sandy dream state.
