HighSnobette gave a glimpse of the new 2013 kicks Puma did with Alexander McQueen and Hussein Chalayan. I hope these guys aren’t wedge sneakers because I’d like them to find a home in my closet this Spring.
WOMENS[fashion]
GRANNY’S CLOSET
Wildfox Couture goes granny for Resort, and apparently Kimberley’s grandma was one cool, preppy lady.
STAR TURN
Neoprene is one of my top three favorite fabrics. [Yes, there is such a list.] I wish I had the resources to sew with it, but I’ll have to settle for day dreaming until that day comes. Thankfully Sass & Bide does it right. Available at Net-A-Porter.
CHRISTMAS IN THE SAND
I’ve got Christmas music* playing non-stop and considering that we don’t have much for winter weather over here, Colbie Caillat’s holiday album fits the bill perfectly.
That said, I’m also looking at swimwear year-round. My dear friend Paula tipped me off to the brand Jolyn. As a synchronized swimmer, she knows how quickly suits can wear out, fade, and lose fit, so I can see why she’s stoked on the brand. Their versatile basics look like instant core closet items, which makes their skull suit collaboration with Laeken just the icing on the cake. Plus, they’re all made in the USA. Good find, Paula!
*I am fully aware of the calendar, but if Starbucks has red cups, it’s a go.
BATTER UP
NOT SO REPELLING
I’m a huge fan of Nike Blazers, but have never been able to commit. Cheerleading shoes aside, I don’t think I’ve actually owned any Nike shoes ever. Leandra might have just given me that push I need to invest.
THE BASICS
Leather, denim, and cotton: always and forever. Ann-Sofie Back knows what’s up.
NSW LADIES LUX
New Nike NSW Ladies gear at Caliroots lookin’ good.
SS’13 PICKS: NYFW
ROUGH N TOUGH
It’s been twenty years since No Doubt’s eponymous album was released, and Gwen’s still got that OC flavor.
Marie Claire October 2012 cover.
