a-first-look-at-the-jeremy-scott-x-adidas-originals-js-wings-dark-knight-1

Anyone else ever really dig a pair of shoes despite knowing that you’d never wear them? The adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott product typically isn’t my cup of tea, but the preview of the tentatively-named “Dark Knight” shoe above is right up my alley. While wings aren’t a new motif for this line, I’m really loving this iteration due to the all black color way and dramatic wing placement. Even though I’ve no plans to buy them myself, I’d still love to check them out in person.

Urban Outfitter‘s is officially jumping into the active sector, which seemed a long time coming as they’ve evolved into a full lifestyle company. Meet Without Walls, a mix of UO product and curated outside brands to cater to the outdoor-urban customer who has a serious case of wanderlust.

Here’s what UO says in their own words:

“Without Walls is performance clothing and gear for fitness, surf, trail, and cycle, so you can keep moving without looking like everyone else. We don’t chase adventures, we create them. We are @gowithoutwalls #WithoutWalls. #GetMovingHaveFun #MoreToExplore”

I’m super curious to see how fitness customers react to the range and turning to UO for athletic options. Looking forward to checking it out in person next week.

The lovely Rodarte ladies have teamed up with Vans to promote the Vans Custom Culture Contest. Kate, Laura, and Vans are encouraging high schoolers to submit designs of their own decorated kicks to earn a cash prize for their own school’s art program as well as have the design produced. Pretty sweet. What’s also pretty sweet are the pair Kate and Laura designed and signed. Sadly for us, those aren’t going to be available. New DIY inspiration?

AussieW

The Australian Open is in full swing and evidently this year’s dress code is yellow. Most of the color is courtesy of adidas, but I always enjoy observing seasonal palettes in individual sports, as opposed to just fashion in general. In addition to the sunny hues, purple showed up nicely on the ladies’ side. Also, despite the Aussie having a blue hard court, someone always seems to show up matching the arena. You’d think that brands and designers* would avoid it for that major, but it happens. Check out the guys after the jump. Read More
