[WEEKEND OFF DUTY]

Weekend happenings//

May13a

+ My latest purchase that’s sure to get an obscene amount of wear this summer.

+ Caught a showing of ‘The Great Gatsby’ on Friday. For me, it was just about exactly as I thought it might be: an eyeful and earful to take in, but an over all ‘ehh, okay.’ The soundtrack is fantastic, which I’ve had on repeat for a week, but it  kind of distracted me during the film.

+ For Mother’s Day, my family and I headed to the Getty Museum to explore for the afternoon. It’s been extra warm here lately, so the weather was perfect.

+ Have a terrific week!

Weekend happenings//

May6

+ Saturday felt like an all day event as family and friends came together to celebrate my cousins’ birthdays. Perfect weather, a bounce house, and a surprise guest visit by fireman made for a busy and wonderful afternoon.

+ I’m so excited to test run the new Bumble and Bumble Surf Shampoo and Conditioner. I’ve been a devoted Surf Spray user for years, so I have big hopes for these products.

Other notes//

+ Wish I could’ve made a stop this year, but Supercross wrapped up this weekend. Congrats to Villopoto on another title!

+ I don’t know what took so long for Swiss-Miss to get in my life, but I’m so glad to have come across it.

Weekend happennings//

Apr29

+ I have a lot of hours ahead of me to break in these guys: new bridesmaid shoes for an upcoming wedding.

+ The weather here is warming back up to allow for more beach time.

+ Last night’s Mad Men was so good! Stan’s face throughout this scene was killing me.

Other notes//

+ Let’s not talk about the Lakers.

+ The NFL Draft went down over the weekend. Here’s a rundown. My team [the Rams] seemed to have fared alright.

Have a great week!

Weekend happenings//

Apr15

+ A surprise birthday celebration with family. Lots of cake, Cars, and candy. Here’s a Vine glimpse of the action.

+ Finally caught Jurassic Park 3D, one of my favorite movies, with my brother. [See here.] The glasses they hand out are kinda fun.

Other notes//

+ THIS. I was SO upset Friday evening. I’ve no words other than “See you in October, Kobe.”

+ Garance recently swung by Free People’s HQ, and the place is as beautiful as I’ve always heard. Take a peek here.

+ Meet Frank Catalfumo, a cobbler who’s still in business at the sturdy age of 90.

+ Congratulation to Adam Scott on his Masters win! I love this image.

+ Due to the weight of my work schedule, I’ve fallen behind in a few places, this site included. I’ve started countless drafts for posts, but most are left unfinished and ultimately deleted because they were time sensitive. I’m looking forward to adjusting and fine tuning my attention to the extra things outside of work, including a new segment for SOUTHBOUNDSUAREZ. Just gotta continue to push myself to prioritize.

+ And finally, but most importantly, please continue to pray for those affected by yesterday’s events in Boston. Utterly heartbreaking.

+ The finished result of my ring holder I painted a couple weeks ago.

+ Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a green bagel while waiting for my friend to cross the LA Marathon finish line.

Other notes//

+ The 20/20 Experience comes out tomorrow. What do you guys think so far?

+ Personal sport updates: 1) Kobe is out and killin’ me. 2) While I’m not doing an official pool this year, I’m excited to see how my March Madness bracket fares. Go Duke! 3) NFL free agency has already been interesting to watch. My dear Rams have me nervous though.

Have a good one, all!

+ Sometimes your weekend posts get put up on Thursday after the whole week goes by. Whoops. Things are bizzy around here, but here’s a snippet of my weekend in Sonoma to escape the usual pace of things. Nothing does a body good quite like quality time shared with loved ones.

Mar13

+ Kicking off Barrel Tasting at Hook and Ladder winery. Non-wine drinkers like me get mugs.

+ The whole gang.

+ Barrels everywhere.

+ Friends since elementary school: Emily, myself, and Paula.

+ Enjoying Windsor Oaks Winery, our final stop. Such a beautiful setting.

+ Celebrating the birthday girl’s 25th!

+ Strolling around Petaluma after brunch. Petaluma has some seriously cool buildings.

+ Visiting the gorgeous Green Music Center and Weill Hall. Looking forward to taking in a show there one day.

Other notes//

+ I cannot tolerate the Harlem Shake videos at all, but JT gets a pass as always.

+ Some designer humor: I need both of these guys.

+ Dunk of the week: DeAndre Jordan kills it.

+ Tyler Wright nabbed the Roxy Pro title this weekend, while Kelly cleaned up at the Quik Pro.

Other notes//

+ Burton US Open: Shaun White continues pipe domination as does the lovely Kelly Clark.

+ One of my bucket list items, the Iditarod, started yesterday. Long live Balto!

Have a great first week of March!
