One of the latest additions to my book collection is Lizzie Garrett Mettler’s Tomboy Style, based on the popular blog. Being a tomboy isn’t so simply defined as dressing in menswear or of masculine styles, but of possessing a certain sense of confidence, spirit, and edge. It’s not a very big book, but Mettler does a wonderful job highlighting each representation of the tomboy: the rebel, the jock, the adventuress, et cetera.

I’m a huge Maya Hayuk fan, so I was, and still am, pretty stoked to see her teaming up with Billabong for a new capsule. Check, check, check it out.
Skateboarding gets a lot of love on here, but that’s only because, beyond personal bias, it really is that cool. Need proof? Exhibit A: Hermes’ latest Spring ad, “A Sporting Life.”

The Australian Open is in full swing and evidently this year’s dress code is yellow. Most of the color is courtesy of adidas, but I always enjoy observing seasonal palettes in individual sports, as opposed to just fashion in general. In addition to the sunny hues, purple showed up nicely on the ladies’ side. Also, despite the Aussie having a blue hard court, someone always seems to show up matching the arena. You guys, I’m bursting with excitement for this launch. Although it doesn’t technically launch until tomorrow, Jan. 10th, the lookbook is available, so take a gander. Having had the opportunity to work first-hand on this line was an absolute pleasure, and I wish Roxy the best of success on it.
