Here goes my first post of 2016, and it’s unsurprisingly about the Super Bowl, my favorite event. As what I believe to be an effort to further encourage women’s viewership, the NFL has paired up again with the CFDA for 50 one-of-a-kind, designer-decorated footballs. In 2014, 48 designers contributed to the helmet project [here]. This year’s class includes, Rag & Bone, Rachel Zoe, Alice & Olivia, Jennifer Meyer, Marchesa, Rebecca Minkoff, and Prabal Gurung, to name a few. You can see the rest of the collection on the link below. What are your favorites? Do you think the NFL and CFDA make a good partnership?
The auction is on now until February 14 with all balls on display in San Francisco, home of Super Bowl L*, from January 3-February 7. Auction proceeds wiill benefit the NFL Foundation. Get your bid on.
“There was only one night game a year. On the 4th of July, the whole sky would brighten up with fireworks, giving us just enough light for a game. We played our best then because, I guess, we all felt like the big leaguers under the lights of some great stadium. Benny felt like that all the time. We all knew he was gonna go on to bigger and better games because every time we stopped to watch the sky on those nights like regular kids, he was there to call us back. You see, for us, baseball was a game. But for Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez, baseball was life.”
The Sandlot really is the best Fourth of July fim. Happy Independence Day, all! Cheers!
How did I miss this last week? PF Flyers is producing a limited run [2,000 to be exact] of the “The Original Sandlot” Center Hi that Benny “The Jet” Rodriguez sported when he took on The Beast.

Got to watch DC’s Must Be Nice this past Tuesday. Do check it out (esp. Torstein).
*This shot in the credits made me laugh almost too hard. It was embarrassing.
Levi’s dropped this video last week of Russell Wilson sharing his inspiration and what drives him: his father’s lessons and legacy. Can’t root against that.
