NM

Last time the CFDA paired up with the sporting world, we got this collaboration. Now Super Bowl XLVIII is the latest designer challenge with 48 helmets re-interpreted through fashionable eyes. Some designers on the list include Billy Reid, Blake Mykoskie for Toms, Cynthia Rowley, Dannijo, Public School, Rag & Bone, Diane von Furstenberg, Donna Karan for Donna Karan and DKNY, John Varvatos, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier,  Narciso Rodriguez, Nicole Miller, Olivier Theyskens, and Pamela Love.

I’m surprised by the lack of color so far. Couldn’t Narciso’s be easily added to an Oregon uniform? Bloomingdales will be showcasing all helmets starting next week as they go onto auction from 1/15-2/4. 100% of all proceeds will go to the NFL Foundation.

Get your bids ready.

ColorRun

To kick off a bachelorette weekend, the bride-to-be requested that we get the group together and do the Color Me Rad 5K. Such a fun idea! These type of fun runs that are popping up everywhere aren’t running events at all (not even timed!), so it’s fun to get everyone involved at all fitness levels. We ran the length of the course anyway, only slowing down to get covered in the color zones.  If an event is happening in your town, grab some friends and check it out!

Weekend happenings//

Got home Monday evening after spending the weekend in San Francisco to support my friend running the marathon. A few highlights:

+ Taking off from LAX with Starbucks // Fantasy Football updates on my way home

+ Grabbing lunch at Mijita’s at the Ferry Building

+ Best friends since elementary school

+ Freezing on the misty beach at Golden Gate Park // Banksy spotted in North Beach

+ Post-race celebratory lunch at Union Square

Today’s the day! I am just bursting with anticipation over here. I’m looking forward to so many things, but, first things first: the opening ceremony and torch lighting. Here’s a look at some of my favorite Team USA looks over the years. We should definitely bring back the stars and stripes shield motif. And how snazzy are those athletes in the last photo?

 Enjoy the Games, all!
